Pia Toscano sang to Mark Ballas Wednesday night on American Idol, as he sat front and center to the stage. Some people are wondering, however, why Mark had a bodyguard watching over him.
According to a report from Hollywood Life, Mark Ballas was in plain view of Pia as she sang her heart out--but so was his bodyguard. This has prompted many people to ask, "Why?"
Has the life of a DWTS pro really become so dangerous that they require bodyguards to accompany them to events like American Idol? It seems a bit ridiculous when you think about it. It certainly doesn't seem like there's been a hit list posted lately, comprised solely of male dancers from Dancing With the Stars.
Some people feel that Pia Toscano and Mark Ballas both have taken the diva thing a little bit too far. Could it be the networks--FOX and ABC, are trying to capitalize upon the whole Pia Toscano/Mark Ballas relationship thing a bit too zealously? Is that why every move each of these entertainers makes is publicized to the hilt?
Publicity stunts like attending events with bodyguards and overdoing the whole diva thing can only spell disaster for people like Pia Toscano and Mark Ballas. They should concentrate on being the people they truly are--a wonderful singer and a superb dancer--and accept the accolades afforded them based on these merits. The rest of this foolishness will cause fans to look in the other direction once the novelty has worn off, and that could spell career disaster for both Pia Toscano and Mark Ballas.
