Donald Trump was not happy about the goings-on at the White House Correspondents' Dinner this weekend. In fact, he even called in on Fox and Friends Sunday morning to complain.
According to a report from TMZ, Trump bemoaned the antics at the dinner--many of which were directed at him, saying, "It was almost like, is there anyone else they could talk about?"
Donald Trump should certainly have realized that his name would likely come up at the White House Correspondents' Dinner. It did--several times, in fact, but it was all in good fun. The Donald, however, doesn't seem to have much of a sense of humor.
To Fox and Friends, Donald Trump said the entire event seemed "inappropriate." He felt that in light of the state of the economy, that the entire event shouldn't have taken place at all.
At one point Donald Trump even had the audacity to call Seth Meyers--the emcee of the event--a "stutterer." He also said he felt it was inappropriate that he was the "sole focus" of the evening.
Wouldn't you expect that in light of Trump's speculative run for president and the issues he has made recently about President Obama's birthplace, that it sort of went without speaking that he would be the butt of some White House jokes? It would have been pretty unusual if he hadn't been. Do you think perhaps Donald Trump simply has no sense of humor and is a bit of a spoilsport when he becomes the center of attention--especially when the underlying theme is of a humorous nature?
It will be very interesting to hear what all the talk shows have to say this week about Donald Trump and his reaction to the antics at the White House Correspondents' Dinner. What do you think the general consensus regarding his attitude will be?
