Regis Philbin, one-half of the dynamic talk show duo on Live With Regis and Kelly, has been asked to be a contestant on a future season of Dancing With the Stars. Will he accept the offer?
According to PerezHilton.com, Regis hasn't yet decided whether or not he'll lace up his dancing shoes and compete on DWTS. Don't you think he'd be a phenomenal contestant? He practically personifies suave and sophistication in the celebrity senior set.
Regis Philbin announced at the beginning of 2011 that he would be retiring from Live With Regis and Kelly, creating much speculation about what he would be doing afterward and who would replace him on the talk show. While no new co-host for Kelly Ripa has yet been announced (Regis plans to step down from the show in November) he has said he doesn't plan to simply sit around and do nothing after "retiring."
That said, a stint on Dancing With the Stars might be absolutely perfect for Regis Philbin. He likely is a very good dancer--after all he and wife Joy Philbin appear at all sorts of elaborate fundraisers and celebrity-infused events. And what he might lack in dance skills would certainly be made up for in his charisma and quick wit.
So what do you think? Should Regis Philbin accept the offer from DWTS and perform as a contestant on the show?
Is there a possible mirror ball trophy in Regis Philbin's future?
