Maria Shriver and soon-to-be ex-husband Arnold Schwarzenegger's may be one of the top scandals currently shaking the nation, but that doesn't mean that California's former First Lady is hiding out this holiday weekend. Rather, she and the kids took to the beach to their home in Malibu, California.
"Nothing could be better than going to hit up the Malibu house," Tweeted her son Patrick, 17, of their Memorial Day plans.
Schwarzenegger was notably absent, spending the weekend instead at his home in Sun Valley, Idaho, not to anyone's surprise. When you make a mistake (or mistakes, as it seems to be coming out) that enormous, you can't exactly expect to be spending quality beachfront time with your family anymore, can you?
For all that she's been through of late and all that is surely to come, Maria Shriver is handling everything graciously, remembering to put her family first and focus on what really matters right now.
Aside from her strong foundation in family, which includes her four children, Shriver also took care to remember the real purpose of the holiday, Tweeting, "This weekend, I'm thinking of all who gave their life, and all the families who lost a loved one, in service to this great country. You have our deepest gratitude and respect. God bless."
