Recently, Miley Cyrus made statements via Twitter showing her support of same-sex marriage and trashing Urban Outfitters. In one such post, she mentioned Republican presidential hopeful, Rick Santorum, a person who definitely does not share the former Disney starlet's sympathies.
"'IF WE ALLOW GAY MARRIAGE NEXT THING U KNOW PEOPLE WILL BE MARRYING GOLD FISH' - Rick Santorum," Miley Tweeted. "UO contributed $13,000 to this man's campaign."
Now, it seems Rick Santorum has taken time out from his busy schedule of being a reactionary knucklehead to respond to La Cyrus's remarks.
"When she came out against me," declared the bizarrely-named politician, "we actually had a family meeting and decided whether I can continue on in this process and, you know, we had to talk to the kids and it was difficult. But we're actually holding out; we still think we might get Lindsay Lohan. And with that, we can continue. We're waiting."
What?
Obviously, Santorum was trying to show that even he has a sense of humor, if not a sense of equal rights and individual freedom. As for the possibility of "getting Lindsay Lohan" as a conservative foil for the liberal Miley Cyrus, good luck with that one, Rick. Although a Rick Santorum-reformed, conservative Li Lo would be a coup. Quite an attraction on the Tea Party circuit. Sort of like the two-headed calf.
As for Miley Cyrus, there's been no response from the former Hannah Montana star or her rep about Santorum's statement. So, it looks like the ball's in Miley's court, if she cares to dignify such nonsense with a reply.
