They say "Mother knows best," but has the old adage gone too far with the "Never Say Never" teen star's parents with his high-profile romance?
He's not just any son; Justin Bieber is the closet thing you get to the Elvis Presley mania when he ruled the charts and gyrated on stage before throngs of screaming teens.
So it's understandable why his folks want to keep a watchful eye on his development as he spans the earth and approaches manhood. Can't have a hip-shaking son like "The King" right?
From the moment he and Selena Gomez started crushing on each other, their parental antenna went up.
But they got more than they bargained for as the romance picked up steam. Now a source says they are "freaked out" and concerned about his transformation.
Gone was the boyish Bieber who pranced around the home entertaining his folks and just being a kid who loved doing boy things. Enter a girl and all of a sudden his voice changes, he gets tatted up, dons an earring, you name it.
It's all good though; Justin Bieber's parents do admire Selena Gomez, and are willing to let down their guards a bit after meeting her.
After all, he could have picked a cougar or someone who had much to gain by tagging along on photo shoots and at awards shows for personal gain. At least we're not talking about the Bentley Williams type from The Bachelorette.
