Baby Josie Duggar of the TLC hit series 19 Kids and Counting was rushed to the hospital recently while parents JimBob and Michelle Duggar were out of the country. Josie was born five months premature but had been doing very well in recent months.
According to a report from RadarOnline, JimBob and Michelle were in El Salvador, and baby Josie was in the care of older sister Jill when she experienced a high fever and a seizure. She was rushed to the hospital by ambulance.
Baby Josie Duggar's parents were terrified when they were contacted in El Salvador about their daughter's condition.
"There is nothing to do and we feel totally helpless," JimBob Duggar says.
"I was shocked and I was in tears," Michelle Duggar shares.
It must be unfathomable to have a baby become ill while you're away in a foreign country. This must have left JimBob and Michelle Duggar absolutely devastated.
Devout Christians, the Duggars immediately turned to prayer.
"Father, we ask that you would give doctors wisdom to find a cure for little Josie," they prayed over the phone after learning about their daughter's illness.
The Duggar family has been under fire for years about the number of children they have. After Josie Duggar was born so early, they were asked if they felt 19 kids were enough. Many folks didn't like the answer they gave, saying it wasn't them who chose how many children they would have. It was God instead, and that they intended to follow his plan.
Fortunately, Josie Duggar prevailed through her latest close call. Details of the illness and treatment will be shared on the next episode of 19 Kids and Counting.
Is it possible that God is telling the Duggar family that they have had enough children, given Josie Duggar's premature birth and subsequent health issues?
