Ryan Dunn Dead: Fiery Crash Draws Drinking and...

Ryan Dunn is dead. The Jackass star died in a fiery crash just hours after tweeting a picture of him and two other men drinking last night. His death has drawn the ire of Twitter about drinking and driving.

One of the most retweeted tweets on Twitter about the event was "Ryan Dunn was drunk speed driving & not only did he kill himself, he killed the person in the car with him. Hard to feel sad for stupidity." Another tweet from @Jim_Gardner said, "Roger Ebert has a point. Amid all the chest pounding, remember that Ryan Dunn apparently drove drunk and killed himself and another person."

Now, these tweets are harsh, but there is some truth to the sentiment. Rather than bash this man who is dead and has left behind grieving family and friends, this terrible incident should serve as a warning to people. A fiery death like Ryan Dunn's is preventable. The Jackass star paid the ultimate price along with his passenger who also choose to get in the car. If alcohol was the cause of this, the only thing to do is learn from this tragically preventable situation, and don't drink and drive yourself. Rather than demonizing him, though, just take this as a lesson.

Ryan Dunn of Jackass fame is dead and while I feel bad for his family and friends I feel that, if Dunn was indeed drinking and driving (and judging from the above pic just an hour prior I'd say he more likely was), he'd be no better than ANY person who drank and drove--Being famous doesn't make him less accountable for his actions. My Mother was killed by a drunk driver in 2009. She was on her way home at a cross walk when the man hit a parked car, jumped onto the side walk and killed her instantly...

The accident was so bad a closed casket was advised.

...While I can mourn the loss of the human being Dunn was I do not think he deserves a medal for killing himself and someone else just because he was famous for shoving a truck up his butt, and that is even on the idea that the passenger got into the car with him. Two human beings died based on bad decisions. That is the truth.

I understand your sentiment. Dunn is responsible for the accident if he drank and drove. That's not the issue with me. I have a sincere problem when people know, they KNOW a family has just been hit with this devastating news and still decide to post such a heartless and uncalled for comment on Twitter. Roger Ebert just took a major step back in my eyes. The guy should learn criticize his own crappy timing. Maybe then he can actually get some reviews right. Bad decisions all around.

What he did was irresponsible and I hope others learn from his death. He also killed someone else with his act of foolishness and selfishness, while I feel bad for his family, I cannot feel bad for him. This is just another sad example of what happens when you drink and drive.

It's a shame it happened. He should not have been drinking and driving. Condolences to his family and to the family of the passenger. Thank God they didn't hit anyone else!
