DJ Pauly D is facing a $4 million lawsuit by a Connecticut man named DJ Paulie. Apparently, there can be only one DJ named Pauly or Paulie. The issue is not many people
know who the DJ Paulie is. Let's be honest here, the Jersey Shore exploded DJ Pauly D a.k.a Paul DelVecchio's career and now his name is ever where. Hey, it's not like Pauly D knew Paulie existed.
However, that reason isn't good enough for DJ Paulie a.k.a. Paul Lis. Lis is looking to bank on his lawsuit but will have a long fight because fighting is one of the things DelVecchio likes to do. Seriously, doesn't Lis watch Jersey Shore? Apparently not.
Lis' lawyer, Jose M. Rojas, stated, "[Lis] formally trademarked the name 'DJ Paulie' and then came the 'Jersey Shore' which basically wiped him off the face of the map."
Lis states that for the past 40 years, he's been working on his brand and his DJ name but now there are less calls because of DJ Pauly D. Well, that's no big surprise to anyone. The lawsuit states, "The reality television show [follows] a group of young adults pursuing a debauched lifestyle suggestive of loose morals, violence, intoxication and liberal profanity -- the exact opposite of the reputation the Plaintiff, 'DJ Paulie' that[sic] he had spent decades cultivating."
Yikes, who knew that DJs weren't trying to exude an image of a hardcore party-goer with loose morals? That's surprising. Seriously, no wonder DJ Paulie isn't getting much business; there aren't many night clubbers who want a squeaky clean DJ scratching the records. Then again, DJ Pauly D's reputation definitely has paved his way to fame and money. It's going to be interesting to see what happens with this lawsuit.
