Emma Watson will be attending Oxford University in the fall, via a study abroad program of her current institution, Brown University. Today, at a press conference for the latest Harry Potter movie, she said, "I'm going to Oxford in the fall, to study to study [sic] English for a year. Just to explain, I haven't left Brown. I'm still enrolled at Brown, but I'm doing my third year abroad to study at home." Good for her!
Watson says she is quite similar to her Harry Potter character, that they share the same "book-worm tendencies." That's not all Emma thinks she has in common with the character she played: "I speak my mind in the same way that she does... I feel like young girls are told they have to be a princess, and be delicate and fragile, and that's bulls**t. I identify much more with the idea of being a warrior, being a fighter. If I was going to be a princess, I'd be a warrior princess, definitely."
Even though Emma Watson is returning to school, she still has plenty of acting plans in the works - the girl likes to keep busy, that's for sure! Acting plans already include an adaptation of the novel The Perks of Being a Wallflower. It's impressive that she can juggle both school and a successful acting career. Each has its own challenges that don't faze Watson in the slightest.
Emma Watson instead embraces whatever fear she might have. She said, "There's nothing wrong with being afraid... [Bravery] is not the absence of fear, it's overcoming it. Sometimes, you've got to blast through and have faith."
Brown and Oxford both are lucky to have Watson as a student.
