Just as Kate Hudson recently explained her baby's name, David and Victoria Beckham's choice has led to questions. The new father stepped up to discuss his new daughter's name Harper Seven. What does the "Seven" mean? It isn't a Seinfeld tribute although it is reminiscent of a name George Costanza loved.
For the first name of David and Victoria Beckham's new daughter, "Harper" is an old English name. Plus, it was the first name of To Kill A Mockingbird author Harper Lee.
However, "Seven" required just a bit more explanation. It certainly isn't a name that people commonly use. After the Seinfeld comparisons, others thought that perhaps it was because of David Beckham's soccer jersey number. He said, "Part of it is because I had so much luck around wearing that number, wearing it for England, wearing it for Manchester United -- it was such an influential number throughout my career, and a lucky number, but that wasn't the main reason."
Well, what was the main reason for the name "Seven" then? The number means spiritual perfection. That is just lovely. He said, "The other reasons behind 'Seven' were because it symbolizes spiritual perfection, Seven Wonders of the World, seven colors of the rainbow and in many cultures around the world, it's regarded as a lucky number. We love the name. We love Harper Seven."
As well he should. The name, although somewhat unusual, is really quite beautiful. It flows together well, and the meaning behind her second name is quite wonderful.

As I have said on other articles re the names - a TV programme went out on the streets to do a vox pop on the names 'Harper Seven'. Many of the public thought the interviewer was saying 'Half past seven' (or in eshturrie english, as spoken by the couple, arf pars seven) - I predict the child will become known as 7.30 here, poor thing.
