Sister, Sister star Tia Mowry is dishing about motherhood, and the emotional aspects she never dreamed would impact her so overwhelmingly. Her baby boy, Cree Taylor, was born on June 28--and she had no clue what motherhood would do to her.
According to People, Mowry was initially just thrilled that her pregnancy was over.
"I was excited to get this baby out of me," she says.
What caught her completely off guard was the "sudden wave of emotions" that accompanied his birth.
"It's a lot more emotional than I expected. I knew it would be emotional, but I didn't know it would be this emotional," Tia Mowry says. "People always say you never know love until you have your own child and all of that is true."
Those closest to Tia Mowry described her as being "obsessed" and "involved" with baby Cree, and it seems like after these past few weeks, it may be starting to take its toll--as it does with most new moms.
"I didn't know I'd be this exhausted. I'm so sleep deprived," Tia says. "When I talk to other mothers about it they're like, 'Oh yeah, honey, and it doesn't change. Your body just gets used to it.'"
Little Cree's daddy, Cory Hardrict, is fantastic at stepping up to the plate, according to Mowry.
"He's changing diapers, he's feeding, bathing, all of it," Mowry shares. "At night I pump bottles so he can do feedings."
Lucky girl! Not all new moms have a guy like that they can count on. And Tia Mowry has lost 25 pounds to boot--from breast feeding. All in all, it sounds like she's got quite a decent handle on this motherhood thing--doesn't it?
Tia Mowry will be returning to work very soon. She will report to the set of The Game in September, but she will have Cree in tow.
"[Cree] is definitely coming with me," she explains. "I'm excited, but very nervous about how I'm going to balance things out because right now I get no sleep and I'm gonna have to memorize lines. Lack of sleep and studying don't go hand in hand for me."
It's pretty likely that the former Sister, Sister star will pull it all off--and probably very close to flawlessly. She sounds like a natural at motherhood, and of course everyone knows about her talent. Once she gets into the swing of being back to work, she'll likely have it all flowing seamlessly.
Tia's twin sister, Tamera Mowry, only recently tied the knot--and Tia toasted her at the reception. Since she can't wait to share the joy of motherhood with her twin, she offered the following advice.
"At her wedding I said in my speech that she needed to get on it — now!"
Tamera--are you listening? Your sister has spoken!
