After Justin Bieber made a small joke to paparazzi about being just some look-alike guy named "Derek," Twitter users went berserk and, before one could even blink, "Derek Bieber" was a trending topic on the social media site. There are already several accounts in the name of "Derek Bieber," and the people in the know seem to be having a good time with the joke, while others who are not yet in on the joke are just plain confused by the whole thing.
TMZ cameramen followed "Derek" Bieber around Hollywood on Wednesday, asking him all about the news reports of him being a brat by refusing an American Airlines pilot his autograph. Justin Bieber said you shouldn't believe everything you hear in the media, and eventually pretended to be some guy who just looks like Justin and said his name is Derek.
He said, "I'm famous? I'm a celebrity? I didn't even realize. My name's Derek. I don't even know what you're talking about."
Justin then added, "I'm just a look-alike. I don't know why you guys are following me around with cameras."
This just goes to show how crazy Justin Bieber's fans are, going to the lengths of creating make-believe Twitter accounts to keep his joke going on. Check out the video of Justin's joke on the paparazzi in action.
