Selena Gomez Raps Nicki Minaj Song

Selena Gomez is taking a page from boyfriend Justin Bieber by trying her hand at rapping. So can she drop rhymes like Nicki Minaj?

Perhaps Selena was inspired to try the different style of music after hearing her man (a.k.a. Shawty Mane) rapping with Chris Brown and Asher Roth, and maybe she also aspires to work with a famous rapper on a track some day.

Selena tested the waters during a Much Music interview in Toronto, where she tried her hand at performing Nicki Minaj's song "Super Bass" (with the drug references removed, of course). She actually didn't do too shabby of a job, but the pop princess was a little bit shy stepping out of pop comfort zone--she had to ask the audience to rap with her.

Who knows? Maybe one day Selena Gomez and Nicki Minaj will team up for a track. Nicki can be Harajuku Barbie, and Selena can be her little sister Skipper. However, Barbie will have to clean up her act just a little bit to avoid offending the sensitive ears of Selena fans, and she'll have to make sure that she suffers no nip slips on stage.

Selena has also tried her hand at singing Britney Spears songs, and she's actually pretty good at it (although she lacks Brit-Brit's moves), so perhaps she'll continue doing covers of some of her fellow female singers' songs. It could be fun to see her shock everyone by performing something slightly raunchy like Rihanna's "S&M" or Katy Perry's "I Kissed a Girl," or maybe she could kick it old school with Madonna's "Like a Virgin."
