Maybe the world wasn't ready for a world of Kate Gosselin Plus 8 (minus Jon.)
The original show featured the couple and their eight children. However, after their divorce, Jon left the show, but TLC carried on solely with Kate and the eight children, changing the name from Jon and Kate Plus 8 to just Kate Plus 8. Ratings declined and TLC has ultimately decided to cancel the show.
How is Kate taking the news? Well, according to People, she is "freaking out." She goes on to say that her 8 children (11-year-old twin daughters and the 7-year-old sextuplets), "weren't ready to leave the show."
You think?
These kids have spent their life on camera. The show premiered in 2005, shortly after the sextuplets were born. Having camera's follow their day-to-day lives have become normal. It isn't so much that they "aren't ready" to leave the show, but that it will be a shock for them.
They have all become accustomed to a certain way of life and with the cameras gone, it is sure to have an effect on the children. Perhaps this is one reason these kinds of shows shouldn't exist?
If you're interested, the last episode will air on September 12.
