Say it isn't so. Justin Bieber was asked about plans to attend college and the 17-year-old star gave an answer that sounded a lot like "no way." This shouldn't come as a huge surprise to fans since girlfriend Selena Gomez and friends like Demi Lovato and Taylor Swift are college age and not in school. Still, it would be nice to see one of these youngsters giving college a try.
Hollywood Life reports, "Justin Bieber was asked if a college education is in his future during Fashion's Night Out on Sept. 8, and he told reporters: 'To be honest, not in my plans as of now.'"
Though there's absolutely nothing wrong with not attending college, it would have been a better message if he had explained that he thought college was a good choice, just not one that was right for him at the moment. So many kids look up to Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez, and they need role models who attend college and value their education. The Biebs also went on to say that he didn't enjoy high school because of all the drama.
Who knows, perhaps one of these stars will end up being like Natalie Portman or James Franco who both went on to college.
What do you think about this crop of teen stars like Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez, and Demi Lovato not going to college?

I really don't think he has to explain anything. It really isn't anybody's business if he goes to college or not. It is more important that he enjoys the life God gave him and follows the rules for living (The Ten Commandments). College has nothing with his situation right now, or for the near future.
Lots of religion in that second paragraph. Education is a good thing, and is not something that is just about money. Bieber is a popular singer now. Does he expect to be 17 years old forever? If so he is going to be disappointed.
If I knew then what I know now....
I do hope he decides to go later after a little time off from school. Time will tell.
I think that Bieber is showing his immaturity here, along with his insistence that he plans to be married with kids when he is 25. Hey Bieber, you have a talent and you have some money. Do you plan for that to dictate the terms of your life, or do you want to fit your talent into your life.
So many child stars end up a mess. I wonder if Bieber will be the next Michael Jackson, dead in a fancy house. Or like other child stars, burned out and unhappy, running through their money.
