Nicki Minaj took to Twitter on Tuesday to share a special photo from her recent Glamour Magazine photo shoot and to wish a music producer friend a happy birthday. What she may not have realized is that she may have just started a new Twitter trend, similar to planking.
Nicki Minaj retweeted a photo of herself in a refrigerator that was apparently taken during a recent Glamour magazine photo shoot:
Got milk? RT @MONAY_TM: :O RT @KaitlynMorris: Outtake from @NICKIMINAJ's shoot for GLAMOUR magazine.
Of course Minaj moved on from what was a kind of funny photo to wish producer Swizz Beatz. It didn't take too long before she was moved back to a discussion with fans about the photo and how it may have started a trend.
Nicki encouraged her fans:
Lmao. Reading these replies. Go ahead! Send me pics of yourselves in your own fridge barbz! It could be the new planking! Lmaooooooooo.
Okay, so Nicki Minaj is a little amused that she may have started a new internet meme. But will it catching on like "planking?'
By now most have heard about "planking" (lying stiff as a board in an odd place and having a photo taken of it) and "owling" (perching like an owl in an unusual place), but this might take the cake... literally.
It didn't take long for Minaj's fans to name Nicki's new trend:
Yes!!!! Lmao. "Fridging" briliant! > RT @TeamMinajBXTCH: @NICKIMINAJ what shall we call it? Fridging??
So will Nicki Minaj's "Fridging" take off? Will the internet be overrun by the likes of Chris Brown, Justin Bieber, and Katy Perry posting photos of them perched in the refrigerator?
Thanks to Glamour Magazine, the world of social media will be subject to "fridging." Expect "fridging" to trend on Twitter and for there to be plenty of YouTube videos, at least until the next stupid idea comes along.
