Demi Lovato has gained 30 pounds since leaving rehab, but says she really doesn't care. She simply happy that's she's healthy and in a far better place than she was when entering the facility.
According to Hollywood Life, the 19-year-old Skyscraper singer seems to have embraced her new curves--they did show up in all the right places--and isn't losing any sleep over having gained so much weight.
Prior to entering rehab, Demi was consumed with looking rail thin for the camera. She was treated for eating disorders while in rehab, along with several other serious issues emotional and physical issues.
"I just felt that being on camera for my first job wasn't the smartest decision," Demi says. "On TV, you have wardrobe fittings, you have four cameras on you at all times, and you're worried about your angles and your lighting and your shots."
She explains how she managed to meet the TV criteria for size and shape--and how that contributed to her downfall.
"I had learned how to control and manipulate everyone around me into believing that I was OK," she says. "I'd go to work on my TV show and, instead of getting lunch, I would go get my nails done or go tan or nap or something...No one was grilling me."
Demi Lovato has come a long way since those days. In addition to her 30-pound weight gain she has gained confidence, insight and knowledge about the emotions that can drive you to harm your body. Now she serves as a role model for women and girls everywhere.
Meal times now find Demi Lovato at the table eating. She even checks in with an adult following each meal to ascertain that her proper nutritional intake is on track.
