Lindsay Lohan is following in the stiletto-heeled footsteps of her younger sister and up-and-coming model, Ali Lohan, as she recently landed her own new modeling gig. Yes, it's true! There is one brand out there that's not afraid of a good dose of controversy, what with all Lindsay's past drama, those legal woes, not to mention the much more recent tarnished moments (think a make-out session with her mom, Dina Lohan, at her birthday bash, the hurling of champagne glasses at photographers, a rumored ban from Marc Jacobs' party and other New York Fashion Week faux pas).
Young German fashion designer Philipp Plein with his eponymous design house is the one who is so daring to go with LiLo to front his Spring 2012 collection and campaign. "Lindsay is a beautiful, highly acclaimed actress and model," said Plein. "We will be able to create unique images: Refined and luxurious. but also full of sensuality."
The likeness of Lindsay Lohan very rarely conjures anything close to "refined" or "luxurious," so this should definitely be an interesting collaboration. Although, to her credit, she showed up to the 2011 amfAR Milano Gala on Friday night appearing the best she's looked in a long time. She wore a stunning, backless black halter dress with her bleach blonde hair tied in a sultry ponytail. Her date was the handsome Plein, natch.
Other than this amfAR dinner, Lindsay Lohan is in Italy for Milan Fashion Week to represent as the face of Philipp Plein. Hopefully, there won't be any unfortunate glass-throwing incidents. She's attending Plein's runway spectacle on Saturday, where the designer is happy she "will witness the fashion show that features the pieces that she will be wearing in the campaign, helping her enter [his] world, permitting a maximum interpretation of the collection." And according to Styleite, after the show, Lindsay Lohan and the designer will get to work on developing just the right concepts for those pending ads.
A cursory glance at some of Philipp Plein's designs and it's clear Lindsay won't have too much ground to cover as she's entering his world. The looks are right up her alley with uber-short, strapless cocktail dresses, tightly fitted embellished frocks, rocker biker jackets, skinny jeans and even leggings. Phillip Plein and Lindsay Lohan were obviously made for each other!
One has to wonder, though, if this new modeling gig has Ali Lohan at all jealous of her big sis...
