Taylor Lautner is a star on the rise. At 19, he's graduated from his tenure in the Twilight Saga franchise to become a bona fide leading man who can carry a film of his own--the recently released Abduction. However, after having accomplished so much, there's one thing the Twilight heart-throb says he'll never even attempt on camera or off. It's the one thing he simply can't do. That is, he could do it, but he couldn't do it well. Or even adequately.
Taylor Lautner can't sing.
"That is one thing that my fans would probably not support," he laments. "If I ever start singing in a movie, they'll be like, 'Alright, I'm done.' I'm terrible, terrible, terrible!"
Yikes. Sounds like he's really terrible. So awful in fact, that he's determined to avoid any future roles that might require him to carry a tune.
Interestingly, Lautner claims he's a terrible dancer as well. So, even though he was in a hip-hop group in his early teens, he's also ruling out any parts that would require corybantic competence.
"I would attempt hip hop dancing," he admits. "I was miserable at it. I would mainly use my martial arts skills. And then, occasionally, and when I had to, I would do a dance move."
So, there you have it. Taylor Lautner--a terrible singer and dancer. Oddly enough, Robert Pattinson, who is a good singer, has often also described himself as a terrible dancer. Could the Twilight heart-throbs' respective lack of musical talent have something to do with being teen idols? Or is it some kind of vampire/werewolf thing?
Note: Wonder if Kristen Stewart can sing and dance? Just asking.
