Jeff Conaway, famous for his role as Kenickie in Grease, passed away on May 27, 2011. He reportedly was unconscious for several weeks from a supposed drug overdose. His family finally had to remove him from life support. The 60-year-old was notorious for his drug addiction, even doing a stint with Dr. Phil on Celebrity Rehab.
Autopsy results released by the L.A. Coroner's office on September 30th indicate that Jeff Conaway's death was an accident resulting from multiple factors. His heart was a mess with aortic valve endocarditis, which is an infection of the heart valve; septic emboli, which is an infection in an arterial blockage; and coronary heart disease. Drug overdoses did eventually play a factor, causing a brain disorder known as encephalopathy. He also suffered from pneumonia.
While his death was not directly related to his drug problems, obviously some of Jeff Conaway's health complications resulted from his abuse over the years. Friends, family, and fans may now be able to rest a little easier now that more questions have been answered.
