Kate Middleton not only turned royal heads, but drew wide-eyed stares the world over, when she walked down the Westminster Abbey aisle last spring to marry Prince William in her royal wedding. Wearing a Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen confection, the Duchess of Cambridge firmly placed herself in the most premier of fashion categories, a status only bolstered by constantly chic public appearances, which included those during her North American tour with William.
No shrinking violet to her royal sister, Pippa Middleton also has paved her role as a style icon—a road that really began with her maid of honor turn at the royal wedding. She also donned a McQueen frock that definitely played up her, ahem, assets. Later nicknamed "Her Royal Hotness," Pippa's modish moves are now just as pursued and documented as Kate Middleton's.
But from where did all this sophisticated fashion sense come? Why, it's obviously inherited and was also perhaps gleaned at an early age. After all, Kate Middleton and Pippa Middleton's parents, especially their mom, know how to dress to the nines, as most recently showcased during a rare public appearance as reported by the Daily Mail.
Although they usually keep a low profile, Carole and Michael Middleton stepped out to attend a gala performance of Venezuela Viva in London, benefiting the British Red Cross, where their classy wardrobe ways shone. Mom Carole, 56, was the picture of perfection in a structured, three-quarter sleeve cream jacket over a slim black above-the-knee dress, all paired with a quilted clutch and black satin heels. Her jacket even featured three cream-colored Red Cross ribbons down the front. How inspired is that?!
Carole's resemblance to daughters Kate Middleton and Pippa Middleton is uncanny, and it's also clear where they get their enviable figures, in addition to that very desirable sense of style.
