Is Rick Ross dead or alive continued be a major question circulating the internet throughout Saturday. The rap star suffered several death scares on Friday after two seizures rendered him unable to perform at a show. Now, his ex-girlfriend is speaking out about Ross' situation.
The "Teflon Don" of rap, Rick Ross, was scheduled for an appearance at Midnight Madness in Memphis last night, but despite two attempts to get there, had to spend time at the hospital instead. Ross was romantically linked in the past with actress Elise Neal (pictured).
Neal's movie work on her resume includes both hit and critically-acclaimed movies including "Malcolm X," "Hustle & Flow" and "How to Be a Player." She was most recently seen in 2010's "Love Ranch" on the big screen and "A.N.T. Farm" for television.
Not long after the Rick Ross seizure news surfaced, Neal weighed in with her thoughts on why this happened to her ex. Neal commented:
"I hate to say this, but I saw this coming. I think they're pushing him too hard.
They don't think about him or his health, pushing him to do all these videos, pushing tours and shows," Neal continued. He is not 20 years old anymore — no one seems to care about him really or overall his health."
By "they" it is alleged that Elise Neal is referring to Ross' record label Def Jam and his entourage. Neal and Ross were seen together for various appearances earlier in 2011 including The Soul Train Awards. They were also seen dining at Mr. Chows. It's been noted that they broke up after Ross had been spotted out and about with other women. That may be part of the reason Ross is having health problems as he has been taking on more than he can handle at once.
Elise Neal makes some excellent points which probably apply to more musical artists than just Rick Ross. There tends to be a stereotypical lifestyle that rap (or rock) stars live these days, and Ross may fit the bill. He clearly is not a rapper who is in touch with his health, but loves to enjoy the good life. Ross may do well by reflecting on these latest near death seizures that almost took his life. A serious lesson may be observed from former rapper Big Pun, who died of a heart attack at just 28-years-old. Rick Ross, age 35, should start paying better attention to his health, so he doesn't suffer an unfortunate fate like Pun did at a young age.
