Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher were having marital problems way before Sarah Leal entered the picture, friends report. Intense fights flared between the two, which led to verbal abuse on Demi's part, friends dish. Could it be the actress pushed her husband further and further away, asks Hollywood Life? This fresh spin on an old problem may just be a new way of blaming the victim. Or does it have some truth?
"Her insecurities about him come out at night," another source says of Demi's six-year-marriage to Ashton Kutcher. Demi Moore is 48, an age when actresses often fall into serious panic—serious strain, friends are calling it—even if they are not married to a fellow actor, who is 33, starting a new job, and hot with wanna-bees and hangers-on. The stage may have been set for trouble, and Sarah Leal was merely a catalyst.
That's not to condone cheating. Certainly, wife Demi Moore did not "make" Ashton Kutcher cheat, by any of her actions. If the marriage is over, end it first and then cruise the bars for someone to tell your troubles to. But Demi Moore has slid over the edge into scary-skinny, and that, in itself, usually does in a person's cheerful and happy disposition. Trouble seems to lurk in several directions.
Meanwhile, the two are, at last report, wearing their wedding rings and even taking "intense Kabbalah counseling sessions." That's always a good sign. There may be hope, but their friends seem to have given up. That's generally a bad sign. Stay tuned.
