Nicki Minaj is scared of unlocked doors. This is a new one. Some people are scared of heights, spiders, dying, fire, but unlocked doors? This seems to be the case since childhood for the "Super Bass" singer Minaj.
Nicki Minaj, who seems pretty unafraid of the recent verbal attacks coming from rapper Lil Mama, says that since her childhood she is really paranoid about "unlocked doors" thanks to her abusive father:
My mother left him many different times and came back. He would beg, cry, stalk us... One time, he pulled my mother out of a car and dragged her for two blocks.
This is an absolutely horrible thing to witness as a child. According to Nicki Minaj, she made sure from that point forward that "anywhere my mother and I were, I made sure the door was locked, because that was my only way to protect her."
Luckily for Nicki Minaj things seem to have turned out pretty good for her. Goodness, she has other singers calling her a blessing (click to find out who), and she has to be pretty fearless on stage. It certainly shows through in her elaborate costumes and wigs that she is often seen in. No fear, just make sure to keep the doors locked around Ms. Minaj.
