It didn't take long for comedians to chime in on Kim Kardashian filing for divorce from Kris Humphries only 72 days after their "fairytale" wedding. Rainn Wilson (The Office) and Kunal Nayyar (Big Bang Theory) had different assaults on the unhappy couple.
So what did the comedians have to say about the unfortunate cloud of divorce that has hovered over the Kardashian family on Halloween 2011? Rain Wilson took a Tale of Two Cities approach... asking about the "Best of Times" via his Twitter account:
I wonder which day of Kim Kardashian's marriage was the most fulfilling? 1-72. I'm going with 27. #72Days
Rainn's vote of day 27 as the "It was the best of times'" moment in the Kardashian, Humphries marriage is just the reverse of 72... logical, right? What about a guy who plays another nerd on a different sitcom, The Big Bang Theory's Kunal Nayyar? Kunal attacked the situation with sarcasm:
OMG! Kim Kardashian is getting a divorce?? OMG! like my life is totally over. LOL what am I going to do with my life?
Yep, he went valley girl on the Kardashian-Humphries divorce talk, but quickly backtracked, deciding to take the "high road."
Okay, that was insensitive. Divorce (no matter how short the marriage) is not a light thing. Hope they get through this unscathed. Respect.
So the question is this: should comedians stick it to Kim and Kris, taking jabs at easy material, or should they back off and give the Kim and Kris some space and respect?
