Little girls throughout England and all over the world look up to Kate Middleton, and now a story is spreading that will touch the hearts of Kate's fans. Young AnneMarie Mantei was fixated on the beautiful wedding of Kate to Prince William last April, and in July she sent Kate a note. She wrote about her family and asked Kate about sports and such, and she and her mom sent it off without really expecting anything in return. Imagine AnneMarie's surprise last week when she had a letter waiting for her from the Duchess of Cambridge herself.
PressConnects shares the story of how AnneMarie grabbed the mail on her way into the house, without even noticing the note with the Buckingham Palace postmark. Her mom shrieked when she saw it, and AnneMarie said, "I started to cry. I didn't want to open it, just tear it apart, so my mom got a letter opener." Inside they found a note sent on Kate Middleton's behalf from Mrs. Claudia Holloway, the royals' secretary, on St. James Palace letterhead.
The letter said, "The Duchess of Cambridge has asked me to thank you for the lovely letter... in which you wrote so enthusiastically about your family... in answer to your questions, she does sport... and took part in hockey, table tennis and netball at school." While AnnMarie hadn't told any of her friends she had mailed the letter, now she's making sure everybody knows about the response. Fans are touched by the time Kate Middleton takes to connect with fans, especially a young girl who will hold such a response so near to her heart.
