Baby watch is in full effect with Kate Middleton, and now some media outlets have found a new reason to crank up the watch. STV is sharing that Kate's parents and sister, Pippa Middleton, have arrived in Scotland to meet with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. The speculation is, of course, that they are all meeting to discuss the big, happy announcement that is coming any day now. Apparently the family had a similar meeting about this time last year to discuss the wedding, and of course everybody is hopeful a baby is next for them.
Apparently bookies William Hill have even changed the odds again that Kate Middleton and Prince William will announce a pregnancy before the end of the year. Their odds are 6/4 on a pregnancy announcement in 2011 and 4/7 that the baby arrives in 2012. Of course bump watch started about five minutes after the wedding, but has escalated lately over tiny details noticed by fans. Kate didn't drink any alcohol at Zara Phillips' wedding in July, though by the look of recent pictures obviously Middleton wasn't pregnant then.
Last month, Kate was spotted sipping water rather than champagne at a solo royal engagement, though it's relevant to note that Kate is not a big drinker. She is also still getting used to doing royal engagements, so passing on the alcohol is a pretty wise choice. Kate is also known for being cautious about eating in public, but that didn't stop the rumors from building when she recently passed up peanut paste at an event last week.
Royal watcher Andrew Morton has predicted a quick pregnancy for Kate Middleton and Prince William, noting that "Every reigning monarch for the last 200 years has had a child within a year-and-a-half; Diana was pregnant within three months." Granted William and Kate have shown in the past that they will do things on their own timetable, but even they have said they hope to have children at some point.
So what do you think - is Kate's family visit just for catching up, or is something bigger and more joyous in the works?
