The Kim Kardashian wedding and subsequent divorce could be a signal of the times. People are sick of seeing Kim parade around in her designer clothes and fancy cars while they're suffering trying to make ends meet. It would have been fine if it was all actually "real" but since it wasn't, people are beginning to turn to other places for entertainment.
Between Kim Kardashian's sham wedding and her quickie divorce, her fans are not too happy with the most popular reality star in the world. Apparently her actions have damaged her brand to the point of no return. All those handbag and clothing lines, perfumes and endorsement deals will be a thing of the past if the backlash Kim is getting is anything to go by.
"She thought she was Teflon and she's being proved wrong," publicist Richard Laermer of RLMpr said. "She's the new Kate Gosselin."

Another expert said that :
"There's a real danger that people will be angry because they feel that they have been taken for fools," Glenn Selig, a crisis management expert said. "It's one thing for reality stars to exaggerate something for an episode, it's another thing to go through with the marriage just to concoct a TV special. This could be the time when the line gets crossed."
That statement is very true. If Kim Kardashian felt the slightest bit of doubt about going through with her marriage then she should have called it off -- TV special or not. She would have been far braver to do that than to divorce Kris Humphries less than three months later.
Could all of this hoopla be the end of the Kardashian Empire? What does Kim need to do to get people back on her side and save her billion dollar business?
