Miley Cyrus may be many things, but unpatriotic is not one of them. After turning down a Camp Pendleton Marine Ball invite due to scheduling conflicts, Miley called in to her dad Billy Ray Cyrus' SiriusXM Patriot Channel Veteran's Day concert to tell the heartbroken military man how much she regretted not being able to meet him. Needless to say, the Lance Corporal in question, Ian Hart was thrilled to receive a special message from the "Party in the U.S.A." singer.
"I am so bummed that I can't be there," Miley Cyrus gushed to the shocked but delighted young Marine, "I would have loved to meet you. I want to thank you for everything that you do and for keeping everybody safe... you are heroes to a lot of people and it was a big honor that you asked me... thank you so much."
Awww. Sweet; and something that the Lance Corporal will remember for the rest of his life and no doubt relate to his grandchildren. But it didn't end there. At the end of his daughter's special message, Billy Ray Cyrus suddenly chimed in with a special message and an invite of his own:
"Maybe you guys could come up to Toluca Lake and join us for dinner or lunch," he said. Needless to say, Lance Corporal Hart accepted.
So all's well that ends well. The marine will get his date with the superstar. The superstar will do her patriotic duty. And Billy Ray Cyrus will...still be Billy Ray Cyrus.
Of course, the question now being asked online is: Does Corporal Hart have a chance of stealing Miley Cyrus away from her boyfriend, Liam Hemsworth? Should the Hunger Games hunk be jealous?
Seriously. Do such questions even deserve an answer? On the other hand, weird things sometimes happen.

I am glad that some of the celebs still openly support our troops instead of bashing them.
