People magazine announced Bradley Cooper as their annual selection for Sexiest Man Alive today, but apparently readers had another gorgeous gentleman in mind. Fans took to the internet in outrage over the robbery of Ryan Gosling for the real reigning heart-throb of 2011.
After the ill-made selection, a "Human Rights" petition began circulating the internet, urging People magazine to admit they made a "huge mistake" naming Bradley Cooper when the title clearly belongs to Ryan Gosling. The topic Sexiest Man Alive has been trending all day on Twitter, with fans weighing in on the debate and offering their own choices from the obvious, like Robert Pattinson and Justin Bieber, to the downright weird, like Lady Gaga.
Despite starring in this summer's box office success, The Hangover 2, and in general being fairly easy on the eyes, 2011 didn't exactly scream the year of Bradley Cooper, so it is understandable that the selection seems rather strange. Ryan Gosling on the other hand has been a huge name this year, starring in the much buzzed about Drive and holding his own with another very sexy man, George Clooney, in the recent Ides of March.
What do you think? Was Bradley Cooper the right choice? Was Ryan Gosling robbed? Or does the title of Sexiest Man Alive really belong to a woman?
