Kim Kardashian is keeping her personal holidays off the air. Is this because of the divorce? For the first time in recent years, cameras will not be rolling as Kim and the rest of the Kardashian Klan eat cookies and trim trees and generally celebrate the season. Why not? Does this mean that a celeb such as Kim actually has a private life? Or is she hurting?
Hollywood Life speculates Kim Kardashian may be so devastated, so genuinely heartbroken by her divorce from Kris Humphries, that she isn't up to sharing her feelings with the world. Not even when airing the whole behind the scenes version of the split would practically guarantee a jump in ratings. To keep fans in the dark is downright un-Kardashian!
Of course, a cynic might say that the situation just isn't funny, and they know it.
Ludicrous, yes, but not amusing. How can Kim Kardashian and family laugh and joke about a divorce? That would simply add fuel to all the speculation that the whole wedding was phony. Or if they all act somber and sad—that would look phony, too. And even more un-funny.
So it's possible that her acute business sense tells Kim Kardashian there is no spin she can use to make this work. Celebrating Christmas, with (they have plenty of footage, undoubtedly) Kris or ignoring his existence, would just make it all look worse, and more rigged for the viewing audience. Better to skip the whole thing and start fresh on another topic. So why does that viewing audience keep seeing trailers for the new season—TV, not holiday—with Kris Humphries leaning on a helicopter, looking drop-dead handsome in a tux?
Who knows? Fans will just have to tune in and see. And isn't that the point?
