Selena Gomez said in a recent interview that she 'was humbled' by the events that took place during 2011. This doesn't sound all that unusual for the Wizards of Waverly Place and singing star who never seems to take anything for granted. She and boyfriend Justin Bieber are very much alike in that way.
According to a report from VH1, Selena says something that really stands out from 2011 was the end of filming Wizards of Waverly Place. Even though the show will air through early 2012, she is finished with something that was a huge part of her life. She refers to that milestone as the beginning of a 'new chapter' in her life.
Selena's career as a singer went full speed ahead in 2011, and she truly had no idea just how successful her We Own the Night Tour was going to be.
"My music, for sure, [surprised me], like touring. I definitely was excited to get on the road and be able [to have] my first headlining tour," Selena Gomez said. "I was excited to go everywhere and meet my fans and experience different places. To be honest, I didn't expect the tour to do as well as it did, and we went to Canada and Canada was amazing and made me feel very humbled."
Selena Gomez's relationship with pop superstar Justin Bieber went front and center during 2011. The loves these two young singers share is refreshing. They seem to genuinely care for one another and they share very similar values in the areas of religion, family and hard work.
So after being 'humbled' by 2011 events, how is Selena Gomez feeling about the upcoming year? Does she have any expectations for 2012?
"I feel like this approach of this year, I wasn't expecting any of the things that happened," she says. "And so I just kind of want to go into the end of this year and the beginning of next year just excited and in a good place and not planning anything."
For right now, Selena is looking forward to taking a couple of weeks off at Christmas and spending at least part of that time with Justin Bieber. After that it's upward and onward into 2012, where she already has a film on her schedule. She will be starring in Spring Break, along with Vanessa Hudgens, Emma Roberts and James Franco.
And of course there's 2012 for Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber as a couple. What do you suppose 2012 may bring for their relationship?
