Bravo has some exciting news for all Real Housewives fans; the Miami women are back for a second season and despite disappointing viewers with their first season, the women know it was laid back in comparison to the catty women in New Jersey, Atlanta and New York. With two of the original cast members out and a new season looming, half of Miami wanted to be part of the second season, according to Adriana who was an original cast member. She will be returning with Marysol Patton, Mama Elsa, Alexis Echevarria and Lea Black. Larsa Pippen has moved to Chicago with Scotty and Christy Rice just didn't fit in with the rest of the cast.
The second season of The Real Housewives of Miami is scheduled to begin filming in about six weeks, so the women have time to prepare. So who will be the newest housewives to join in Miami? Well, Adriana had some thoughts on why the two previous housewives were let go. "Producers didn't want to go in this Basketball Wives direction. We'll portray Miami the way it should be portrayed." Was that a direct stab at Larsa?
So what is the cast saying about all of the negative reviews about The Real Housewives of Miami's first season? According to Reality Tea, Adriana has an excuse; "first season didn't work because Bravo never meant for the series to become a Real Housewives franchise. Indeed, the show was originally intended to be a Miami Social knockoff, but became a Housewives franchise during the editing process." Wait, what? "That's why we had shorter episodes and all that foolishness. Now we're hoping to beat Beverly Hills!"
