Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart won't be spending Christmas together -- they'll be in different countries during the holiday. So is this a sign of trouble?
The holidays can be difficult for any couple - there's always a debate over which family to spend Christmas and Christmas Eve with. However, things are even harder for couples whose families live in different countries.
It would be an extremely big hassle for Robert and Kristen to try and jet from England back to the U.S. in order to spend Christmas Eve with one family and Christmas with the other, so they've made the difficult decision to spend the holidays apart. Kristen Stewart will fly back to L.A. to be with her family, while Robert Pattinson will stay in London with his.
The fact that they are spending such a big holiday apart could be a sign of some kind of family trouble - many families will accommodate couples by celebrating Christmas together on a day other than December 25. Kristen and Rob could have celebrated the holidays early with Rob's family in London before jetting off to L.A. to celebrate Christmas with Kristen's family so that they could stay together throughout the holidays, or they could have went to L.A. to celebrate early. However, they obviously felt some kind of pressure to split up in order to be with their families on the actual holiday (to some families, being together on the exact date of December 25 is extremely important).
Perhaps there's also some truth to the rumors that Kristen Stewart hasn't been getting along with Robert Pattinson's parents -- there's always the possibility that they didn't want to see Kristen at all during the holidays (it really wouldn't be that surprising if they didn't like her - she can come off as a flake sometimes).
Whatever the reason for them spending Christmas apart, it seems that relationship problems have nothing to do with the decision - after the holiday they are planning to reunite to spend the rest of December on the Isle of Wight.
And as they ring in the New Year together, hopefully one of their resolutions is to find away to keep their relationship going strong despite the difficulties of having families on different continents and new movie projects that will require them to spend more time apart.
