Rumors Surround Kate Gosselin and Her First...

Kate Gosselin has just completed her first marathon in Las Vegas. This is a great accomplishment for the mother of eight and so many of her fans are proud of her. Of course, Kate has her share of haters and immediately rumors started flying about Kate and the marathon.

On Twitter, posts started appearing suggesting that Kate may have cheated during the marathon. These folks are basing their theory on the fact that Kate had a virtually identical running time to another runner and are suggesting that the two swapped chips.

It is a shame that people are throwing this out there literally right after Kate finished the race. It is also reminiscent of the NYC Marathon that many suggested Katie Holmes faked.

Kate is an avid runner and is often seen near her Pennsylvania home pounding the pavement. Running is something that she is truly passionate about, so why not run a marathon? Despite this conspiracy theory, isn't it possible that the reason for the close times is that the two were running partners?

While there is no hard evidence that Kate cheated during the marathon, there will always be those who have their conspiracy theories. These are typically the people who have a strong disdain for Kate. Love her or hate her, finishing a marathon is a huge endeavor that deserves applause.

As I saw pointed out elsewhere, there being someone with a virtually identical time is not only no proof of fraud but proof that there was no fraud. What would be the point, if two runners are shown being on the course at all times? It doesn't have to be a running partner to have an equivalent time, it just has to be someone whose running abilities are similar.

I find it totally bizarre that someone would be scrutinizing the results desperately trying to spoil the enjoyment of this accomplishment for Kate. She didn't win it. She didn't come close to winning it. She didn't expect to or think she was able to win it. She achieved her goal. She completed the course and did so in a respectable time. The haters can't stand it. The only controversy that exists is the one they manufacture out of whole cloth.

Peggy it's not just that they had the same finishing time, but the EXACT SAME SPLITS to the second. One split, maybe.... but ALL OF THEM exactly the same? That's highly improbable. Reports on the RnR FB page is that the courses was very crowded and disorganized. It is highly plausible that she either handed the chip off to her friend or they hopped shuttled buses. The finishing photo may be interesting.

Finishing a marathon...at the expense of the kids, once again. Doesn't matter to you Kate fans that she STILL has 2 expelled kids from school who are crying out for attention. Nope. First she zips over to Australia for a nice break, now Vegas...oh wait...let me guess...running the marathon was 'working', right?

You REALLY need to find a new role model. You truly, truly do. I invite you to come to Reading, PA and watch your role model in action. What you'll see is a woman who spends very little to NO time with her kids. Picking them up at the bus stop is NOT quality time. Not by a long shot. These kids are being raised by nannies, NOT their mother. And it's sad. They are desperate for attention from her.

Very well stated. I live about a mile from the school that the Gosselin children attend and have friends who live near Kate. It is a joke that she is being portrayed as a good mother. It is quite the opposite. She NEVER spends time with her children even when she is home. The children are being raised by a babysitter. I wish Gather would start reporting about the huge amount of time Kate is away from her children and how little attention they receive from her when she is home. It would make you sick.

I am not a fan of Kate Gosselin. But, I would give her credit if credit is due. At first, I thought she actually finished the race. But, after seeing the stats and reading the web articles, I am convinced she cheated. There are too many reports to deny it. These reports are not from 'haters'. Data does not lie. If she cheated, she did it with the help of 2 friends. There is no law against cheating in a race, but it a matter of integrity. I am disappointed in Kate and ashamed of her friends.

Hey, I don't like Kate, but she could not have cheated. I have run a bunch of marathons and you are chipped to keep track of your time. So many people around would have seen it. She did not cheat. Now - I don't like her or her diva attitude, but she gets credit for her effort. You 'win' nothing unless you are in the top levels and her 5 hour run is a beginner level. We all will probably get sick of her patting herself on the back and proclaiming she did it for all us other mothers out there so there is plenty of other things to not like about her.

I beg to differ. I'm not saying she did cheat but it's been reported that the course was crazy and very disorganized. Also Kate wore her tracker on the opposite shoe of her two companions. They could have easily just switched shoes without having to take the tracker off of the laces. One companion ran the 1/2marathon and then finished with her sister and Kate.

According to the articles, there were 2 friends running with Kate. Both are experienced marathon runners. Only one friend finished the race. There is no record of the second friend finishing. The second friend supposedly ran for Kate using her chip. Somewhere along the way, chips were switched, Kate dropped out, then showed up near the end. The stats support this theory. Hope it is not true, but...
