Legendary musician Stevie Wonder really wants to compete on Dancing with the Stars.
Millions have danced to Wonder's tunes like "Superstition" and "Dancing to the Rhythm," but now he would love to get the chance to dance to some music himself.
The 61-year-old soul singer dished about his dancing dreams to Ellen DeGeneres, telling the talk show host that he's already trying to lose weight for the show.
If he does get to his target weight, he'll be the first blind celebrity to dance off a few more pounds on Dancing with the Stars, and it's safe to say that his handicap will pose an extra challenge for whoever his dance partner is. After all, she won't be able to ask Stevie to watch what she's doing and then ask him to do the same -- it's going to take a lot more verbal instructions and hands-on teaching for Stevie Wonder to learn the steps in his dance sequences. But perhaps the show could hire a dance teacher experienced with teaching the blind to help give him and his partner a fair shot at the mirror ball trophy. Based on his music, it seems that the musician has got great rhythm, so he'd probably do extremely well once he learns his dances.
Dancing with the Stars would be lucky to have a living legend like Stevie perform one of his songs live, so the producers have got to be thrilled that he seems so serious about competing. After all, almost everyone recognizes his name, and tons of new viewers would probably tune in just to see how he does.
There are also rumors that Kris Jenner might compete on the next season of the show, so it would be interesting to see if the Kardashian fans could take down Wonder, who would surely be a fan favorite regardless of what scores the judges give him. Rob Kardashian couldn't take down J.R. Martinez, so Kris would certainly be up against it.
