The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills has been crazy this season because of two major conflicts; one is Taylor Armstrong and her husband's suicide and the other is Kim Richards' supposed drug and alcohol problem. Earlier in the season, it was revealed that Kim was taking a mix of anti-anxiety and anti-depressants, meaning she came off as intoxicated much of the time. However, it is no secret that Kim has been battling an alcohol problem for years.
Concerned friends and co-stars scheduled an intervention for her earlier this year, but she didn't seem to bite their offer for help. However, according to People, Kim has now accepted the help and is seeking treatment at a rehab center. So what caused this The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star to get help now?
Her boyfriend of one year, Ken Blumenfeld, has been criticized in the media for being active on a dating website during their relationship. In addition, his DUI charge doesn't have Kim's family holding 'welcome to the family' parties for him. In fact, Kyle Richards has not been visiting her sister since The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills was taping. Could the stress of her family, public reports and old demons have pushed her over the edge?
Despite the reason, it is good for Kim to get the help she needs. There are no new developments on the story and it is unclear as to where and what type of program she is entering.
