WWE and TNA wrestling star Hulk Hogan has filed a defamation lawsuit against his ex-wife Linda Bollea over autobiography claims she made about him. Basically, The Hulkster is tired of his ex-wife's lying ways!
The report from Fox News says Hogan's defamation lawsuit is due to false claims made by Linda in her autobiography and promotional interviews. Among the allegations that Linda made in her book called "Wrestling The Hulk: My Life Against the Ropes," were claims that Hogan was physically and mentally abusive to her during their marriage. She made those similar claims during a TV interview earlier in 2011, saying:
"It scared me that he might just snap, not realize what he's doing. He is just so strong I thought he could kill me. He had his hands around my neck one time on the bed, and he started squeezing my throat. He just went into this trance, and I was looking at him and saying, 'Terry, stop, stop. I can't breathe.'"
The other claim that has Hulk Hogan outraged was one made by Linda that he had a homosexual relationship with another wrestler. Now Hogan is looking for a jury trial to settle the matter, and has asked for Linda's book to be removed from sale. Hogan's lawyer has said the only way to stop all these "outrageous allegations" being made by Linda is to go through the court system.
The claims of choking and abuse bring up the disturbing and troubling images of an enraged wrestler with mental issues, but that's not the way Hulk Hogan normally appears to the public (outside of the ring). Then again, things can be different behind closed doors, in real life. Now it will be up to Linda Bollea to prove the claims she's making, or Hulk Hogan to prove it's all lies and malicious defamation by an ex-wife looking for money and revenge. Who will win this fierce battle in the courtroom?
