The world has already previewed the Lindsay Lohan Playboy cover, but now they can sample the accompanying interview. Lohan gives a candid interview to the magazine, revealing some personal and inspiring things.
Lohan is a huge fan of Marilyn Monroe, who also posed for Playboy on the now collectible first issue. Lohan has posed as Marilyn before, recreating her infamous "Last Sitting" photos. She has been photographed imitating the star's style and even compared herself to the legend in an essay that she wrote for a coffee table book.
Besides trying to emulate the late Hollywood icon in her own Playboy spread, Lohan talks about why she chose to pose nude and references Monroe in the interview, saying:
Sex and sexuality are a part of nature, and I go along with nature. I think Marilyn Monroe said that, and I agree with her. Knowing your body and being in touch with your body is important because it gives you confidence, and in life, women need confidence.
Many scoff at Lohan for her intrigue of Marilyn, but so many Hollywood starlets idolize the icon. A lot have tried to pull off Marilyn Monroe-style photo shoots, but Lohan does a good job of capturing the essence.
In the interview, Lohan also says that she is learning from her mistakes. Could she finally be growing up? She says:
Looking back, I probably would have listened to and taken more advice from the people I admire and would have followed through with it more, but my stubbornness at 18 and 19 got in the way.
Marilyn Monroe died from an overdose of sleeping at the young age of 36. Many have feared that if Lohan did not put her partying ways behind her, she could end up meeting a similar fate.
It is good to see Lindsay Lohan admitting her mistakes. Since her last court hearing, she has seemed excited to turn her life around. Could she finally be taking those steps to get her career back on track?
