Rapper J. Cole is not dead, despite a new Internet rumor to the contrary. The story originated from the Global Associated News, which has been quite busy lately creating these celebrity death hoax stories. Perhaps in light of the holiday, they didn't bother to put too much work into this one though, as the supposed details exactly match the Scott Baio death hoax that came out just a couple of weeks ago. As always, Gossip Cop is setting the record straight on this one.
Tuesday afternoon the story made the social media rounds, claiming that J. Cole died in a jet ski accident. The prank stated that Cole "died while on a personal vacation in Turks and Caicos early this morning from injuries sustained in a Jet-Ski accident - December 27, 2011." The fake report went on to say that Cole struck a boat slip in the Parrot Cay marina and died. However, none of that is true.
While Cole hasn't posted anything on his Twitter page since before Christmas, Gossip Cop says that Cole is fine, and this story is yet another fabricated prank to worry fans. While this one may not get gain the traction of the recent Jon Bon Jovi death hoax, it still can throw off J. Cole fans that scramble to find accurate information. No doubt the Global Associated News will be back later in the week with a new hoax.
