The Duggar family of 19 Kids & Counting fame is in Iowa campaigning for the next president of the United States. Who are Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar endorsing and might it make a difference to those in Iowa who are as of yet undecided?
According to a report from Radar Online, the Duggars are supporting Republican candidate Rick Santorum, but they say that if there were ever a perfect candidate, it would be Jesus Christ himself.
'Republicans are not going to find a perfect candidate unless it's Jesus Christ,' Jim Bob Duggar was quoted as saying.
The Duggars aren't new to the political life. Jim Bob Duggar served in the Arkansas state House of Representatives some time ago. Michelle Duggar--while supporting Santorum wholeheartedly--isn't in Iowa with the 13 members of her Duggar family, but is recording robocalls in his support from the family's home. She is still recovering from her miscarriage--and that is something else that the Duggar and Santorum families have in common.
Rick Santorum's wife Karen recently gave birth to a stillborn baby boy at 20 weeks gestation--the same term that Michelle Duggar carried baby Julbilee Shalom. Naming their baby boy Gabriel, the Santorum's brought their deceased child home so their other children could see and hold him.
The Duggar family came under much scrutiny following the stillbirth of Jubilee Duggar, when at the memorial service held for the baby they displayed and passed out photographs of the deceased child.
Do you think the presence of Jim Bob Duggar and twelve of the Duggar children in Iowa on Monday will help bring in votes for Rick Santorum? And if so, how do you think he will do if he fares well in Iowa?
Do the 19 Kids & Counting family members have that big a pull?
