A lot of celebrities open up to reporters at one time or another about their lives both pre-celebrity and peri-celebrity. Most of the time they reveal things that they would consider to be embarrassing, or even more popular would be them discussing their love lives. Well, for Sofia Vergara, her niche is discussing her pre-celebrity status and the various things that she did that she thought would make her a better actress. Or rather, things that she thought would get directors to notice her.
First, Sofia Vergara came out discussing her image. She figured the directors in Hollywood were looking for the typical thin, blonde girl. So Vergara, who comes from Columbian roots, dyed her hair blonde and dropped about 20 pounds losing her signature curve
s. Still no luck. And now she reveals that she also spent quite a bit of money on speech classes as she 'thought she could fix her accent.' It turns out, none of these little changes did her any good. With her speech, she was so focused on the pronunciation of each word that her acting was completely awful. And with blonde hair and no curves, she was just another face in the crowd. So Sofia Vergara did what she should have stayed doing, she went back to her roots. She dyed her hair dark, got her curves back, and now she is famous.
Beauty comes in all shapes and sizes; and with Hollywood, it's not about becoming the mold of someone else, it is about breaking the mold.
