Snoop Dogg was reportedly arrested this weekend in Texas. What kind of charges is the actor-rapper facing? No stranger to infractions of the law, he once spent six months in jail for possession of cocaine.
According to a report from TMZ, the charges against Snoop—whose real name is Calvin Cordozar Broadus, Jr.—weren't quite that serious, but he broke the law just the same. He probably won't be jailed for this incident, however.
It seems Snoop and his gang were on his tour bus, and got stopped at a border patrol check point—the same exact place where Willie Nelson was busted for marijuana possession back in 2010. Lo and behold, when the canines boarded Snoop's bus, they found—you guessed it—marijuana.
The dogs got a hit on a trash can in the back of the tour bus, and inside the can they found a prescription bottle filled with joints. When will these people smarten up? Not only should they not have drugs on their tour buses, but don't they know they're subject to thorough checks when going through border patrol check points? Sounds just plain stupid, doesn't it?
Snoop Dogg was arrested and charged with a misdemeanor drug possession. He won't do jail time for the offense, but will likely have to pay a fine.
Texas is really cracking down on marijuana-related crimes. Do you think this is a good thing or not? Snoop is likely voting with the latter option at this point in time.
Reps for Snoop have been contacted regarding this recent incident, but thus far haven't replied with a statement.
