Katy Perry was scheduled to make her very first red carpet appearance since hubby Russell Brand filed for divorce. She was to appear at the People's Choice Awards, however has just announced via Twitter that she won't be able to attend. According to a report from TooFab.com, Perry tweeted the following message to her many followers just a short time ago.

ately I will not be able to attend the People's Choice Awards," the singer just posted on her Twitter. "I want to thank u all for voting for me, fingers crossed! #KATYCATS"

It might very well be that Katy Perry needs just a little more time before venturing out into what will undoubtedly be a sea of cameras and reporters asking questions that she may not be quite ready to answer. She is still scheduled for concerts in the Philippines and Jakarta at the end of January. Hopefully she won't cancel those events as well.
