Rumor has it Paula Deen is a wanted woman—by the people at Dancing With the Stars anyway. Despite her recent confirmation of having Type II Diabetes, they think Paula would be a great addition to the show.
According to Hollywood Life, the whole notion of Paula being diabetic is something the producers actually want to embrace. It would no doubt speak to people all over the U.S. who have the same disease.
"'DWTS' suits love good stories," a source says. "It's good timing. Paula just confirmed she has diabetes, and this could help her a lot."
It's actually an excellent idea. Paula would certainly dance off several, possibly even many of her excess pounds, which would be a significant plus considering her diagnosis.
Some critics have expressed a bit of concern regarding Paula Deen's age. She actually turns 65 on January 19th. That doesn't seem to be a hindrance where the producers are concerned, however.
"Producers love Paula's likability and think it would guarantee she'd be around for a couple weeks, regardless," the source adds.
Do you think Paula Deen would be a good addition to Dancing With the Stars? Can you see her strutting her stuff in some fun costumes and making googly eyes at one of the handsome male dance pros?
Paula Deen definitely has the personality needed to be a DWTS contestant. Her southern charm and drawl would no doubt appeal to many, and if she could both help herself and perhaps others by setting a good fitness example, it actually sounds like winning situation all the way around.
Will Paula say "yes" to the DWTS producers?
