With the Super Bowl 2012 date between the Giants and Patriots rapidly approaching, it appears two rap stars will be wagering on the event. Rapper Birdman tweeted about a bet on the game, and now it appears 50 Cent will wager against him.
While rapper 50 Cent claims to have won a big bet on the New York Giants in the NFC Championship game, Birdman wants to go bigger. 50's claim was that he won $500,000 on the game, and that the money was going to his nana, who only goes to church a lot. Meanwhile, Birdman, who is with YMCMB (Young Money) along with Little Wayne and others, wants to up the ante. He was looking for anyone else who wanted to bet big on the biggest NFL game of the year. That's what happens when you've got money to burn!
So Birdman tweeted days ago that he wanted to wager $5 million on the New England Patriots, saying his nephew was part of the team. Now it appears 50 Cent, real name Curtis Jackson, has obliged, but for a lesser amount. According to Baller Status, 50 tweeted on his Twitter account:
"I'm up 500,000 off the last one. f*** it ill bet it back Ill put a 1,000,000 on my G MEN. STUNNER you got the # hit me if you want it."
That would mean the Super Bowl 2012 date featuring the NY Giants and New England Patriots will have a lot of cash riding on it. The wager would have 50 backing the Giants, and Birdman backing the Pats. The irony here is that sports betting is currently illegal in the US, except in Las Vegas, Nevada. However, rich rap stars seem to play by a different set of rules.
As of this report, it's unknown if Birdman and 50 Cent have officially placed that bet. Maybe they should consider having the loser donate the money to a charity of the winner's choice, or would that ruin some street cred?
Who do you think will win the big game, Patriots or Giants?
