Halle Berry has been in the news a great deal recently, mostly connected with an ongoing custody battle with Gabriel Aubry over their daughter Nahla. It seems the constant fighting and publicity may have got too much for the Oscar winner, who is said to be seriously considering moving to France.
Berry and her rumoured fiancé Olivier Martinez are said to be hoping that the latest court appearances will result in Aubry having very limited contact with his daughter. It was revealed that Aubry pushed a nanny who was holding his daughter, and an investigation conducted by the Los Angeles Department of Children and Adult Services found out that he suffers from anger management issues. The judge insisted a third-party be present whenever Aubry meets with Nahla.
While Aubry has fought Berry's previous attempts to move, claiming they would impact on his relationship with his daughter, the latest ruling will give him very little ground to appeal on. It's now rumoured that Berry and Martinez are looking at homes in France to avoid the US media and give Nahla some privacy as she grows up.
Berry has submitted papers to the court regarding a move and is awaiting for a hearing. Aubry is still expected to appeal, especially on the basis that he disagrees with Martinez living with his ex-partner and daughter as a family; although Berry is likely to argue that leaving America will be safer for her and her child. The recent release of Berry's stalker from jail is likely to support this argument.
Would you leave the country to avoid a bitter custody battle, and provide a safer home for your daughter? Or do you think Halle should stay near Aubry?
