Taylor Momsen's career took off when she appeared as a sweet and lovable character on Gossip Girl, but lately all it seems she makes the headlines for is quitting the show to pursue metal music with the band 'Pretty Reckless' and her numerous fashion faux pas. Taylor definitely takes her gothic look seriously - she always has a scowl on her face, raccoon eyes thanks to an entire pencil's worth of eyeliner, and black clothing (or lack of clothing sometimes). Momsen makes a point to wear crazy outfits that include short skirts, pasties, stripper heels and see-through tops - even if it doesn't suit her age. Ok, let's face it, the look doesn't really suit anyone other than Marilyn Manson.
But for the first time in a long time, people got to see a little glimpse of what Taylor Momsen looked like before she jumped head first into her gothic lifestyle. Sure, she still had her signature scowl; but all it took was Fashion Week for her to only use a quarter of a pencil of eyeliner, wear something that covered her up (even if was still black) and to wear heels that were less than 5 inches tall. And wow, does she look good. It just goes to show that sometimes more isn't always better. Maybe Taylor will look in the mirror and realize that she likes this look as well and tone it down from here on out. Though that wouldn't work too well with her music career, would it? Oh well, it was worth a shot. Enjoy it while it lasts folks.
