Starring in a biopic about Elton John would be just about any male singer's dream, including Justin Timberlake. However, in his case, it might become a reality. Rumor has it that Justin's nearly ready to sign on the dotted line. However, the project is on a temporary hold. That's because it hasn't yet found the right director, or so says Elton John's husband, David Furnish.
"It's important we all share the same vision," Furnish says. "Elton and Justin have had conversations about it. Justin...has to feel comfortable with the director". Justin also wants the director to be comfortable with him.
That could be because the singer's still relatively new to the acting industry and he fears not everyone will want to work with him. It could also stem from his acting style, which might not suit every director's tastes. Whatever the reason, a good match up is certainly called for.
Justin Timberlake moved to the top of Elton John's wish list after playing the singer so well in a David LaChapelle video. "The Rocket Man" seems to think that young star is just what his biopic needs.
There are big plans for Elton's story. Besides the movie, he's considering a Broadway show as well. However, Furnish is quick to add that "we just want to do the movie first."
It's a good choice. A successful movie could do a lot to boost ticket sales for a Broadway musical. Either way, though, any story about the amazing Elton John seems certain to succeed.
What do you think? Can Justin Timberlake make a convincing Elton John?
